Is Sally D the "Next" Mari Jane? Okay in 42 States, a Felony in Illinois
A native Mexican plant known as Salvia divinorum which is legally available in 42 states and widely available on the Internet, became a Schedule I substance in Illinois this year. Possession or sale of the herb, commonly know as Sally-D, Diviner's Sage and Magic Mint, is a felony in Illinois.
Illinois is among eight states that have placed restrictions on the substance, dubbed by some the "next marijuana."

I can understand the legislators not wanting to have another substance out there for kids to use, but it seems if someone wants to get high, they'll find something, whether it's sniffing glue or markers or whatever. Everything can't be made illegal, and the law doesn't stop people from smoking real pot, just costs more because of "risk tax." Leave it to Illinois to be one of the firsts on this one.
